Pichu is an electric mouse Pokémon in the Pokémon series. It is the pre-evolution of Pikachu.
Background[]
Pichu made its first appearance in the Second Generation of Pokémon (the Silver and Gold versions of the game.) It has appeared in every standard Pokémon game since Gold and Silver. However, in order to obtain it in every game but Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum, a Pikachu or Raichu must be bred to form its egg. From there, it can be evolved into a Pikachu based on its happiness level.
In Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness it is obtained by trading for it.
Involvement[]
Pichu is an obtainable Pokémon in the series. It is only catchable in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl as well as Pokémon Platinum. Otherwise, it is bred and hatched from an egg.
