Metroid Prime is the first game in the Meteroid Prime Trilogy, developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo. It was released in Canada and the USA on 18 November 2002.[1]

Gameplay[]

Metroid Prime is a first-person shooter game. In the top-left corner of the screen is a radar that shows enemies' positions. Across the top is a bar showing current health. Above that is a row of squares. Each of these squares represents 100 health units. In the top-right corner is a mini-map. Along the right side is the missile count. In the bottom-right corner is a display that shows what beam is currently selected. In the bottom left corner is a display showing what visor is currently selected, and on the left is the hazard meter. The closer you get to a hazard (lava, acid, etc.), the higher the hazard meter goes. When you're actually taking damage, the meter is full and says DAMAGE. One step behind full it turns red and says DANGER.
